The Last Shelter Walkthrough

The Last Shelter is a science fiction tower defense game where you must fight off overgrown bugs (sounds a bit like Starship Troopers, doesn't it?). This strategy game features well-designed graphics, fifteen challenging stages, and a variety of upgrades to bolster your defenses.

The objective of The Last Shelter is to defend your base from the hostile alien bugs on each level. When all waves have been defeated on the current level, you will advance to the next. When a level is first unlocked, you will have the choice of playing it on either the easy or normal levels of difficulty. If you manage to earn three stars on a level, you will be able to play it in Ultimate Mode to gain another badge and more experience. Your progress is automatically saved, so you can continue from where you left off the next time that you play or retry previous levels to earn more stars or badges.

Unlike most tower defense games on the Web, enemies do not navigate a simple path in The Last Shelter. Instead of placing turrets along the edges of paths, turrets are placed on the path to form a defensive barrier. To place turrets, select the type of turret that you wish to build by clicking on its icon in the lower-left corner of the screen. Turrets may be placed where there is energy to power them (blue-shaded hexes). To upgrade, repair, or sell a turret, click on it, then click on the appropriate icon. You may also use support powers such as airstrikes by selecting them in the lower-right corner of the screen. Use support powers wisely since they take a long time to recharge!

Earning stars and badges is not just done for show in The Last Shelter; stars and badges earn extra experience! This experience can be used to research upgrades between missions. Upgrades are evenly-priced by level in this tower defense game, but they do not all have equal value. The first upgrade that you should purchase is the shooting radius. This upgrade gives your turrets longer range, allowing them to kill the bugs before taking damage themselves. In fact, all of the other upgrades are useless in comparison, but may make the game somewhat easier. If you need more experience, try to earn more stars or try to beat missions in Ultimate Mode.

When you're all out of bug spray, hot lead makes a great substitute. Kill those bugs dead in The Last Shelter!
